Kitchen & Bath Designs of Colorado reveals hottest design colors for your kitchen and here’s #1.

The way to man’s heart might be through his stomach. But the Kitchen is the heart of our homes.

We’ve all been there – it’s time to change things up, let’s start with the kitchen, what color is the best option? When comes to remodeling your kitchen the first question on everyone’s minds is THE color. Yes- it’s important that your kitchen theme works with the rest of the house, but the functionality of the kitchen space allows you to differentiate and create something special for family and guests. With all possibilities open let’s explore the 5 best color options for anyone.

Winning white

And the 2018 Kitchen Oscar in the “Color” category goes to… Mrs. White.Over half of homeowners agree on a white-themed kitchen! This very classic and traditional choice goes with almost any décor, attracts more natural light, works with even small spaces but most importantly – it’s TIMELESS. The classics never go out of style (like the dated avocado green appliances from the 1970s.)

The only downside to white is maintenance. Have pets? Kids? A life?Well, don’t let that keep you from a bright, cheery, white kitchen. Just keep a few to keep in mind:

  • make lightuse of drapes or blinds to protect your cabinets from direct sunlight and  prevent yellowing
  • clean your tiles with the “holy grail” cleaning formula:  solution of water, vinegar and baking soda. It’s effective, natural and keeps your grout squeaky- clean (unlike commercial cleansers.)

Final thoughts on the white kitchen: with so many shades and undertones, you don’t have to go with pure white. Try combining ivory, eggshell and cream to create the perfect hue combo. Not ready for full commitment? Feel free to add white in any element of the 60/30/10 rule - where 60% is your color of choice, 30% secondary (think draperies, accent chairs, accent wall, kitchen island, etc.) and 10% is your accent color (reserved to use sparingly in throw pillows, artwork, flowers).

Go ahead, let the magic begin. Just in case if you still can’t decide or not sure where to start, no worries give us a call, we are here to help.
